Notes:The first Sam Goody in the Twin Cities, this 5,900 sq. ft. store featured a store-within-a-store Cecil B's, a Musicland concept focused on music and movie memorabilia. Opened in November 1988 and located next to FAO Schwarz on the 3rd level of The Conservatory, an upscale mall in downtown Minneapolis that opened the prior year. The mall struggled with vacancies soon after its opening, and Sam Goody closed in June 1991. Sam Goody returned to downtown in late 1993 when Sam Goody #5132 opened in City Center. The Conservatory was demolished in March 1998.
